Styrian Open in new setting
During the 24th Styrian Open, the couples of the international
field of the WDSF tournaments danced in a completely new setting.
The dancers broke in the long-announced new hall in Schladming
(Austria) last weekend. The Congress Schladming is coloured in
dignified green and grey; however, it conveys a sportive atmosphere
even at extreme outside temperatures due to its air conditioning.
Three German couples were in the WDSF Open Latin semi final,
one made it to the final: Denislav Dimitrov/Iliana Staevska
finished second. The Austrian champions Zufar Zaripov/Anna
Ludwig-Tchemodourova won. In the semi final: 11. Denis-Julian
Richter/Ana-Maria Heinemann, 13. Philipp Hanus/Siri Kirchmann.
In the competitions of the Seniors I and II, two German
couples reached each final. In the Senior I tournament, Rene &
Heike Seyboth and Soenke & Solveig Schakat had to make do with
places 5 and 6. In the semi final: 11. Markus Lilli/Manuela
Wichmann, 12. Florian & Anja Meyer.
In the Senior II tournament, Bernhard & Sonja Fuss were
placed second behind the Italian world championships finalists
Armando Nespoli/Natalia Gualandris. Wolfgang Walter/Ilse von Beyer
finished 6th. In the semi final: Wolfgang Walter/Ilse von Beyer.
